Local Recycling

Local Recycling

At Tarkett, we believe in collective action to drive meaningful change.

As a founding member of ResiLoop, Australia’s first national, industry-led take-back and recycling scheme for resilient flooring, we’re helping to shape a more circular future for the flooring industry.

ResiLoop was established to address the significant waste generated during resilient flooring installation, with a focus on expanding collection networks and investing in R&D to create viable, local recycling solutions. By joining forces with other industry leaders, we’re supporting the development of infrastructure and processes to keep more flooring waste out of landfill.

Alongside ReStart®, Tarkett’s long-standing and trusted take-back and recycling program, our partnership with ResiLoop allows us to offer comprehensive recycling pathways across a broader range of flooring materials, including those not currently covered by ReStart®.

Two Programs, One Goal: Zero Landfill

Tarkett offers two complementary recycling pathways, each supporting a more sustainable flooring lifecycle:

ReStart®
Our established take-back and recycling program, ReStart®, enables true circularity by turning old flooring into new Tarkett flooring products. In Australia, it is available for Homogeneous Vinyl and select DESSO Carpet Tiles, ensuring materials are kept in use at their highest value and reducing reliance on virgin resources.

ResiLoop
For resilient flooring products not currently covered by ReStart®, we partner with ResiLoop, Australia’s first national take-back and recycling scheme for resilient flooring. ResiLoop focuses on installation offcuts and wider industry collaboration, with the goal of developing long-term infrastructure and new applications for recovered materials.

Together, these programs allow Tarkett to provide comprehensive, scalable recycling solutions - helping our customers reduce waste and choose more sustainable outcomes across every project.

ResiLoop

ResiLoop has been designed as part of the local industry's pathway to a circular economy, by tackling this waste issue, starting with waste generated during the installation process.

ReStart®

Launched as a pilot in 2023, ReStart® is now live and operating nationwide. As part of our program, we collect Homogeneous Vinyl products and select DESSO Carpet Tiles.
